Not all VRs links have been validated, but for the most part these VRs will provide you links to obtain data to help assist our members, veterans, and friends. 1ST ANNUAL PEARL HARBOR DAY

OPEN HOUSE HONORING THE GREATEST GENERATION

To all of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 331,

I would like to thank the Sons who volunteered to make our December 7th Open House, honoring our greatest generation, a very special and memorable day for our veterans and our guests. The Sons were honored with the opportunity to participate and volunteer time and resources to make this first event a huge success.

Our squadron was well represented and contributed to the event along with the American Legion Veterans and the Ladies Auxiliary. To all 66 members of our Squadron 331, I thank you for your continued support and your genuine interest to make life good for our veterans and their families.

I would like to particularly thank Sal Emma and his wife Beth, Scott Auman, Brian Heenan, Carter Winterbottom, Joe Filachek, Bill Burns, Craig Costigan, and Tom McCullough (chairman of this event for the American Legion and also a S.A.L.) for a truly outstanding service and adding a level of professionalism on Sunday December 7th that has set the bar for years to come! Thank you. 13 World War II Veterans were in attendance or represented.

In addition approximately 90 guests consisting of friends, family, press, clergy, veterans, Stone Harbor and Avalon Mayors & Councilpersons, and American Legion State Officials were also in attendance. A proclamation to the Veterans from Governor Christie was read by Commander Harry Clayton on behalf of the Governor.

In all, a very good day for all who attended and enjoyed the recollections from the WWII Veterans, enjoyed the wonderful hot and cold hors d’oeuvres & array of fine beverages, while witnessing the happiness of our Veterans, their families, and their friends.

Respectfully,

Greg Kizeik, Commander, Sons of the American Legion Squadron 331
