Current Officers



    Greg Kizeik was sworn in as the first Commander of S.A.L. Squadron 331 on November 8th, 2012 and is currently serving as the Commander. Greg and his wife Maureen are Avalon residents and reside in Avalon full time.
    Greg is a Rutgers graduate and enjoyed a full career as a Navy Civil Servant serving in various technical, management, and leadership positions during his 40+ year career. With backgrounds in Finance, Program Management, Lean Six Sigma, Engineering, and Prototyping & Manufacturing he has many skills to call upon to continue to lead the S.A.L. through all its phases of growth and sustainment.
    Greg is focused on providing direct support to the Veterans of his community thru the effective leadership of his Squadron and by effectively utilizing the resources generated by the membership’s projects and programs.

        Ned Galbally

        1st Vice Commander

        Ned Galbally is a native of Philadelphia where he graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School and LaSalle College.
        After college he joined Matlack Inc,(Lansdowne, Pa) holding various management positions from 1972 to 1979.

        He then joined Airco/BOC, (Murray Hill NJ/London UK )where he had a 28 year career in various senior management positions including Senior VP for Global Operations and Managing Director for the company’s Mexican business before retiring. He currently consults on a part time basis.

        Ned and his wife Sharon split their time between Warren NJ and Stone Harbor. They have four sons and currently, five grandchildren.

                John Tracy

                Finance Officer

                John Tracy is the current new finance officer as of June 8th 2016. I have been a Avalon native but have resided in Stone Harbor since 1993. Attended Wildwood Catholic H.S. 1970,72. Then attended vo-tech school for 2 years. Marine science 1974. Went into building trade with my father building homes as Tracy Construction for 10 years. Then started my own building company with my 2 brothers in 1983. After 10 years I put down the saw and hammer. I took a position with the borough of Avalon as carpenter for 5 years. In 1998 I  moved into a position with the Avalon construction office as building inspector and building sub code official. I now have become the construction official since 2000 which is my current position in the year 2016 and will be my full-time occupation till the time I can retire. I also am a proud father of my two sons  john and Austin and my two granddaughters Isla and Luna.

                    Bill Burns

                    Bill Burns 75, resident of Stone Harbor for 23 years. Professor at Camden County College for 37 years.
                    Retired after 41 years as an educator.   Charter member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #331 and elected Sergeant at Arms since November 2012.  Married 52 years to Frances. Three children, Rita, Bill Jr., and Heather. Five grandchildren; Bill III, Abby, Richard, Ella and Nicholas.   Member of Seven Mile Chorus and volunteer for Cape Regional Medical Center, Performing Arts Center, Knights of Columbus.  American Legion Post #331 and Eucharistic Minister at St Brendon Parish.

                        Walt Finken


                        Dr. Walt Finken/ SAL Chaplain.   Born 01/29/1950 in Long Island, N.Y.  Moved to N.J.  In 1953.  Grew up in Blackwood, N.J.  Oldest of 5 children.  Father started the DuPont printing plant in Delaware.  Mother was very active on school board and local politics.  Attended St. Agnes grade school and Highland High School.  Active in sports. Played football, baseball, swimming, diving and wrestling.  Was an Eagle Scout.  Started wrestling feeder program as a coach.  Wrestled at Camden County College was on team to win State Championships, Region Champs and came in #10 in the Nation.   Received a wrestling scholarship to Seton Hall University.  Owned Custom Stained Glass Specialties and Glen Oaks Swim Club.  Attended the College of Medicine and Dentistry and graduated in 1981.  Practiced Dentistry at Seaview Dental Arts in Galloway, N.J. And retired in January 2016.   Married to wife Mary for 35 years.  Has 2 children Michael and William and 4 grandchildren.  Volunteers in many local organizations and loves to cook, fish play golf and enjoy quality time with family.

American Legion Post 331 1st Vice commander 2009-2011 and American Legion Post 331 Commander 2011-2013. American Legion Post 331 Trustee 2013 to present.
